What We Believe

“Two are better than one, because they have
a good return for their labor.” - Ecclesiastes 4:9

We believe that the Church is the body of Jesus Christ on earth, called to be the constant outpost of the Kingdom of God, through which He draws all people to Himself.

We believe that the Church primarily fulfils this calling through the worship of the Triune God.

Worship is our participation in the very life of the unchanging, eternal God. Revealed in Scripture and practiced since the very first days of the Church, we believe that historic, biblical worship in Word and Sacrament (Scripture, Baptism, and Holy Communion) is the foundation of the Church’s life. Doctrinally, we believe that the Nicene Creed is the most basic statement of faith that all Christians can affirm.

These means of grace, are the non-negotiable plumb line of Christianity. They are the unchanging channels through which we come to know and love the unchanging Christ.

Christian orthodoxy is how we obey the first of the Gospel commandments – “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all of your soul and with all of your mind. This is the first and great commandment.” (Mt. 22:37-38)

That’s why we’re interested in partnering with churches that share these convictions.
Because if the nature of Christian worship and faith is unchanging, this provides the healthy, fertile ground from which the Spirit can bear true Gospel fruit as we obey the second Gospel commandment – “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mt 22:39)

In knowing, praising, and loving God, the Church is like the Lord Himself: unchanging. In how we love our neighbors, we’re called to meet their most basic needs in a variety of means, just as Christ does.

That’s where the Church’s history of creativity comes fully into play. For over 2,000 years, the Church’s most faithful outreach has also been its most creative, particularly when that outreach was rooted in faithful worship.

From hospitals and orphanages to food banks and shelters, much of what the modern world considers basic services wouldn’t exist without the unchanging faith of the Church reaching out afresh in every age to meet the concrete needs of the world.

Unchanging worship and faith. Creative outreach to meet real needs. If this sounds exciting, get in touch. We’re here to help you love your neighbors – for their good and for the greater glory of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
