We know every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. As Christ says “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.” It is then imperative of us as church leaders to ensure that not only do we personally bear good fruit but that our ministries bear good fruit too.
Are your ministries the most effective they can be? Are you seeing the impact you know is needed?
At the heart of any ministry, including Fulfill, is the desire to honor the Lord by loving another. The greatest commandment is after all ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart mind and soul and your neighbor as yourself. We like to say ‘Love God. Love All’.
A Signature Ministry is then your best effort to live out the greatest commandment practically and effectively to bear as much good fruit as possible.
A signature ministry allows congregations to connect with their communities in meaningful ways that make a significant difference in the lives of people, while also shaping the identity of the churches in their own minds and in the eyes of those they serve.
To love our neighbor as ourselves we need to know our neighbor. Only then can we live them, as we do ourselves based on how well we know ourselves. We know what we like and don’t like. Want to do and don’t want to do. What we care most about and what do we priotize the most. We need to know these things about our neighbor too. Then we can think about what’s best for them, connect and relate to them. And offer what they need and really want. This is our bound with them. To know them first.

The hallmark imperatives a Signature Ministry which we will know them by:
- A “Signature Ministry” is a unique and tangible expression of a faith community living out their “broken hearts” for their neighbors, the people that God has called them to love and serve.
- A “signature ministry” must be contextually relevant and by design will focus on excellence of mission execution and exhibit community impact.
- A “signature ministry” will require key leadership participation and budget priority.
- A “signature ministry” at its core will prioritize making new disciples. “Signature ministries” naturally put a faith community “on the map” because of the way their neighbors see how they are loved. Faith communities cannot do all things for all people and yet they often try to do so.
- A “signature ministry” or perhaps two – eliminates the “noise” of too many things not done well, but one or two things that have priority and passion because of God’s call to do them.
Fulfill can help you identify, create and manage a powerful Signature Ministry through A Mission Advisors group of church and ministry leaders will accept applications and assess them based on published criteria. Criteria are opportunity focused centric on ministry impact potential. The granting of resources matching ministry needs and measurement of results to follow.
